Me & My Style

Welcome to the My Homestyle Adventures blog! I'm Marianne; an Australian author, designer and yoga teacher. After living in Colorado for ten years we decided it was time to head home to Australia! I'm a different person in 2022 than I was in 2012 when I arrived in the USA, my style has changed completely! So I decided to share more of myself and my style in this blog.

My Personal Style

I think when it comes to my interior design style I most comfortably describe myself as a maximalist as it allows me to personalize my space and share my passions within my home. 

I collect a multitude of things:

• Vintage cookware (particularly Pyrex)
• Mid century sewing machines
• Fabric & quilts (quilt making is a passion of mine)
• Books
• Vintage globes
• Mid century glassware

I also love surrounding myself with photographs that spark happy memories. And I'm obsessed with all the colors of the rainbow especially, teal, yellow and berry tones. So the places I call home reflect all those passions.

But I truly hate mess and like organized systems in place. So I like maintaining a minimalist stock of usable items to ensure my cabinets and closets are manageable so...

I see design style as a continuum and I'm somewhere between maximalism and minimalism but I definitely lean more towards maximalism.
