Maximalism & In Plain Sight Storage
I like to have everything on-hand and easily accessible but how do you do that and have your home look eye pleasing. My favorite way is to hide things in plain sight!!
Example:
These vintage cannisters on our apartment kitchen bench hold dog treats, kibble, dog medications etc. This is a great way to showcase a vintage item and have it seem like a decorative item when in truth it is simple easily accessible storage.
The same concept can be used in many ways. For example I am a quilt maker, designer and quilt book author, so I have a lot of quilts to store, I have most of them out in plain sight on blanket ladders, stored in baskets and draped over furniture.

quilts on a ladder and draped on the couch arm |
quilts on ladder in the corner of my yoga room |
So consider what you have that can be stored in plain sight! These items can add a warmth and homely feel to a space and because they are in plain sight they are saving space in traditional storage locations such as closets etc.
