Flex Space

I'm obsessed with creating "Flex Spaces" in our home. By that I mean spaces that can be utilized in many ways and therefore contain flexible furnishings and decor that can easily be moved or rearranged.

A great example that's been around for decades is a sofa bed. A bed that can also be a sofa when you have no guests. That enables a spare room to be used in other ways when you don't have guests.
We have a gateleg table we used in our dining area in the Colorado house. We didn't want a dining room set up all the time because we already had a meals area in the kitchen. That enabled us to use the space for rolling out our yoga mats to workout or any other purpose like assembling furniture etc.
So flex Space is vital in a small home.
In our Cooloongup, Western Australia house we are again planning to ensure the 'dining' area is a flex space. Along with the two spare bedrooms.
Do you have any flex space? Could you create some with more flexible furnishing options such as folding or stacking furniture?
